My Timber Sourcing Goals

I pride myself on my business being built using sustainably sourced raw material. as i move forward with the growth of The Florida Woodsmith, this goal will become my primary operation procedure.  What does sustainable log sourcing look like?

• It's reclaiming sawlogs otherwise destined to be chipped, mulched or waisted.
• Only purchasing timber that was cut for purposes other than lumber production. (Ie Tree services, land clearing for homesites, Trees cut for safety purposes) 
• Sustainable sourcing is giving tree services new options for disposing of timber in a mutually beneficial arrangement thst doesnt ultimately end in the waist of good material.
• This means utilizing tree services as a source to gain access to a wider variety of species to saw..

1)  By the Ton: If you just have one, or a few logs to dispose of, logs will be measured, and collective weight will be calculated using a log      weight calculator available through woodweb.com
2)  By the Load: If you have a full load of Logs, we can discuss a negotiable price for the Lot.

Premium Species

Rare or Non local species or logs containing large burls a will be priced on an individual and negotiable basis.

$3/100lb for any edible fruit tree with a diameter of at least 6"
